Our Director, Fergal O’Mahony, was recently on site at a utility-scale solar project in Ireland, seeing first-hand how construction is progressing. Both 110 kV substation buildings are substantially complete, with foundation and steelwork installation ongoing. Meanwhile, piling and the installation of mounting structures are underway in the solar park, ahead of planned module deliveries.

Site visits like this are an important part of the Owner’s Engineer role. They allow us to assess construction progress first-hand, identify potential issues early and help ensure that works are being carried out in accordance with project requirements and design specifications.

This forms part of our work through FFM Technical Advisors, a partnership between Forte Renewables, Fehily Timoney and Company and Mace Consult, bringing together our expertise to support the successful delivery of renewable energy projects across Ireland.
