Forte Renewables and IX Wind today announced that it has formed the partnership ForteIX to provide investors with expert technical advisory services in the offshore wind market in Poland. This cements an ongoing cooperation agreement between the 2 Dutch companies which commenced in 2012 and to date has worked on 1600MW offshore and onshore projects.

ForteIX has targeted the Polish market to offer investors international expertise gained from previous assignments in emerging offshore markets such as Taiwan, Japan and France alongside its involvement in more mature offshore markets such as Germany and the UK. It plans to offer clients the benefits of its experience from working in jurisdictions where offshore wind experienced the growing pains of dealing with absence of fully detailed regulations, immature supply chains and necessity to import international expertise.

ForteIX has already worked on over 30 onshore wind/solar PV projects in Poland and with an office in Warsaw and over 20 Polish staff alongside its international pool of 50+ onshore/offshore experts it is well placed to offer investors an energetic and proactive partner for the coming exciting times in Poland’s offshore wind sector.

Speaking at the announcement of the partnership Fergal O’Mahony, CEO of Forte Renewables, had the following to say:

We are excited by the ForteIX partnership and look forward to growing our share of the Polish Technical Advisory market. We believe this partnership combines the strengths of Fortes experience of conducting TDD and Owners Engineer assignments in international offshore projects and in onshore in Poland alongside IXs strong track record of offshore wind farm development,  WTG Technology procurement and expert EPC risk management. We look forward to speaking to investors and stakeholders at the PSEW conference in Serock in June where we will be one of the sponsors”

Eric Kamphues, CEO of IX Wind, stated that:

In recent years, we have gained extensive experience in emerging offshore wind markets, especially in Asia. Transferring best practices to a new market presents a great cultural challenge. But just as many opportunities to do just that little bit better in a new market. We are very much looking forward to making our contribution to the Polish offshore ambitions alongside our trusted colleagues at Forte Renewables”.
